A device is the physical hardware which is used to run software and connect to the internet.
The term device in this definition is referring to a type of device that is made up of electronics and hardware this is more generally known as a computer.
computers are able to provide you the user with multiple functions inputs and outputs.
The first programmable computer was made in 1936 and was developed until 1938.
It was made by a man named Konrad Zuse and he named it the Z1.
nowadays there are company's all over the world that supply computers worldwide.
companies such as Apple and Microsoft who have since made hundreds of billions of dollars continue to keep working on new products everyday.
It should further be noted that computers such as the one you are using right now are not the only type of electronic devices used,
there are devices in most common everyday object such as dishwashers, Heaters, Keyboards(Musical) ect.
All of these objects use devices either use the device as a brain or as something to help automate the process
